Pre-registration is required for all classes conducted by the Criminal Justice & Security Institute of Virginia.
A registration form and full payment shall be received at least seven (7) days before class. Registration may be done in person, via fax, email, or over the phone with a credit card.
All fees are non-refundable no exceptions. Classes missed must be completed within 30 days.
CJSI reserves the right to cancel classes due to an inadequate number of registrants (Four or fewer).
CJSI reserves the right to refuse services or training to anyone.
The smell of Marijuana will not be permitted at all, and you will be asked to leave whether you consumed it or not. You will not be issued a refund.
No cell phones, audio, video, or still photography is allowed in the classroom or any practical exercise or range
Class begins promptly on the hour. Each trainee must complete every hour of every scheduled session as scheduled. Any trainee who does not complete every scheduled hour of every scheduled session risks forfeiting his or her course fee. Tardiness will be unacceptable.
Any course material issued by The Marksman / CJSI shall not be duplicated in any form.
The attire for class is casual: classes that involve physical activity require appropriate clothing and shoes. Jewelry worn during physical activity will be worn at the trainee’s own risk.
Trainees are REQUIRED to bring the following items to the range for all firearms courses - Belt, Duty
Type, Enclosed shoes. The following are RECOMMENDED items to bring to the range but not necessary- Eye Protection, Hearing Protection, and Duty Gear.
Any trainee who fails a written exam must retest within 1 week. Written examinations may only be taken twice. If the exam is not passed on the SECOND test, the student will be required to attend the entire course, including full payment. - Range failures who achieve a score below 225 points (75%) will be allowed ONE re-shoots. Failure to qualify after that attempt will result in the student completing a private lesson @ $60. If a student does not qualify after completing a private lesson, the student must retake the initial entry level (at cost)
Classes involving practice exercises may be hazardous or involve risk to one's health. Concealed weapons are permitted only through the expressed permission from the instructor.
A ten-minute break will be given after each 50 minutes of instruction. No smoking or vaping of ANY kind will be permitted in the building. Drinks and food are allowed in the classroom. A one-hour meal break will be given during every eight (8) hour session.
Cheating on examinations and practical exercises will not be tolerated. Anyone caught cheating will immediately be dismissed from class. No training completion credit will be given, fees will not be refunded and notice will be sent to The Department of Criminal Justice Services. trainees caught cheating will not be allowed to enroll in future classes with The Marksman / CJSI
I acknowledge that with any type of physical training or firearms training the possibility always exists that injury may occur to the registrant or other participants. I agree not to hold any student and/or participant, CJSI, or any agency affiliated with this program responsible for injuries, adverse health conditions, or death I may sustain during this course. I will report any injuries incurred immediately.
