At CJSI-VA, classroom instruction includes fingerprints and photo. This will be completed during the class. Individuals not taking class with us will be charged $10 for fingerprints and $10 for photo. Call 757-872-4132 to set up an appointment.
Range fees are included in the cost of all firearms training. Student firearm rentals are available for $5.00 per gun.
Any student wishing to qualify with more than one handgun will be charged an additional $20 per handgun.

In-service courses are designed to provide current DCJS registrants with the requalification necessary to keep registrations current. Handgun and Shotgun qualifications are required yearly, while all others are required every two years. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that their registration with DCJS has not expired.

Classes are open to students that are currently registered with DCJS as required by DCJS regulations. Special Conservator of the Peace registration is only through participating agencies.
Advance registration and payment are preferred. There are no refunds, but courses may be switched with proper notice. Weather and other factors may force the cancellation of some or all of a course session. In the event that some or all of a course is cancelled, make up courses will be scheduled. Students must attend all course sessions in order to receive the necessary training completion forms required by DCJS.
CJSI-VA is certified by DCJS to teach the following in-service courses:
