At CJSI-VA, classroom instruction includes fingerprints and photo. This will be completed during the class. Individuals not taking class with us will be charged $10 for fingerprints and $10 for photo. Call 757-872-4132 to set up an appointment.
Range fees are included in the cost of all firearms training. Student firearm rentals are available for $5.00 per gun.
Any student wishing to qualify with more than one handgun will be charged an additional $20 per handgun.

Entry level courses are open to anyone 18 years of age or older; however, Special Conservator of the Peace registration is available only through participating agencies.

Advance registration and payment are preferred. There are no refunds, but courses may be switched with proper notice and payment of a $10 fee. Weather and other factors may force the cancellation of some or all of a course session. In the event that some or all of a course is cancelled, make up courses will be scheduled. Students must attend all course sessions in order to receive the necessary training completion forms and certificates required by DCJS.
Courses may be scheduled as one-on-one sessions or for groups/companies that require specific dates or times. Prices for these courses vary. Please contact us for more information.
CJSI-VA is certified by DCJS to teach the following entry level courses:
01E Unarmed Security Officer Core Subjects
06E Special Conservator of the Peace
